This art portfolio contains some work from my time apprenticing with Sculptor Joyce Michaud at Hood College in Frederick, MD.

The top 3 photos are of my first thrown-slab, wedged coil technique sculpture called “See My Sides.” The subtle organic form suggests elements of a shoulder or a back. I started with a shape for the bottom that I then repeated in the middle sculpture on the bottom row. Each of these sculptures showed me which direction to go through the connection with the clay. These porcelain sculptures are all about 24″ tall.
The flower-shaped sculpture bottom row left is from a collaboration with my mentor Joyce Michaud. She has a whole series of these flower-shaped sculptures.
Lastly, bottom right is a charcoal sketch from my first drawing class back at George Washington University.
